Well, I'm sad/relieved that neither of us have been following our hard core diet plans haha... makes me feel a little better about not being so strict on myself. Although its all business now... time to whip myself into some shape! Hopefully i can cut out the sugar and junk food that has crept its way into my diet :( then i should be pretty good, since most of my diet consists of cereal, chicken and rice, and salad and soup... I have to be honest, i haven't weighed myself recently... but i think i'm maintaining my weight. I've been lifting a lot more and i can feel the difference... and my legs are FOR SURE feeling the difference with all these lovely hills. Anywho... just a brief update...
Hoping that i can be more stubborn with my eating habits... NEED TO MAKE this next season in under 21 for all my races... maybe the first one i can slide on... but other than that i dont want to be in the 22's or high 21's.

it's not always interesting, but let's face it, who's life is exciting all the time?

i lost 5 lbs!
ok, so i didn't actually try to lose the weight. since i've been home, there's been all kinds of family get-togethers and what not, and with my brother's graduation and party this coming weekend, i kno trying to stick to paleo is gonna be more than challenging. but monday morning i had my wisdom teeth taken out, so it was nothing but a liquid diet the rest of the day. woke up tuesday feeling ok, still kinda swollen, and still on a liquid/soft foods diet. well, that lasted all but a couple of hours. i took another vicodin for pain, which was one too many. i spent the rest of the day tossing my cookies (i couldn't even keep the anti-nausea medicine from coming back up). needless to say, it was awful. so today my darling sister says "i wonder if you've lost any weight"...out comes the scale, and sure enough, i've lost 5lbs in the last 2 and a half days. go me!
i've worked my way up to chicken broth with noodles. so i thinks thats progress. hopefully by the weekend i can get something more substantial down (b/c eating just jello or applesauce at the kid's graduation party where everyone else is gonna be enjoying bbq and other deliciousness is gonna be a major bummer)

So far...
Wed. 6/2/10
Breakfast: Cereal and Bagel with Butter
Snack 1: Ritz Crackers
Lunch: Wild Rice with Black Beans
Snack 2: Nothing
Dinner: Chicken Red Curry (SERIOUSLY SPICY FOR ME!!!!!) and Sweet Mango Rice :)
Liquids: Water... not nearly enough... whoops
So my day was pretty good for eating... kinda feel like i'm eating a lot... but its not to be honest, just a lot more than my appetite has been used to. So most of it i just force myself to eat. I need to drink way more water but other than that i think i did alright.
Workout: 6 Mile trail run!!!! AMAZING!!!! wish you could have been with!!! I will take pictures next time whine i just hike through and show you.
Oh and BTW... that super spicy chicken red curry... i totally thought my mouth was on fire! I was legitimately tearing, my nose was running wicked bad, i was hot, and my mouth was demanding milk or some other thing to put it back to its normal state!! haha you would have been highly amused with my lack of tolerance to spicy foods. Especially since it was the "mild" version... everyone that i was with tried it and even told me it wasn't spicy... soooo therefore i guess i'm just a pansy when it comes to hot stuff.

oh dear...
here's to attempting our ridiculous diets!
I'm getting out my one week post nationals junk food bender...then Paleo time :)
as we've discussed, Paleo cuts out any processed or refined grains/sugars. no legumes either-i love beans tho! so basically anything that is all natural, grass fed, and contains no grains is ok. some of the trickier things to cut out (if i really want to go hardcore) are salt (sea salt is ok, but its more expensive), vinegar (so most salad dressings are out along with anything that has been pickled), poultry skin or dark meat (i thought that one was a bit strange...)
so there you have it. my plan is to keep up this blog with a food diary (hopefully daily if i remember) and that we both get skinny! yay!
